Today I am listening to a tarot reading/scrying session from a channel on YouTube called Witch & Scythe. I do not know the woman's name that provides this channel and information, but I often listen to her words when I am attracted to her channel because there is almost always some nugget of information in there for me. This, by the way, is how our souls and the universe work together. When we will benefit from something (good or bad by our own judgement), we are attracted to certain people, places or things that provide us with what we need in the moment. This has been called synchronicity. All synchonicities are useful for us for whatever reason, nothing happens by accident. I use tarot readings with certain readers to receive communication from my spirit team. It's one of the ways I have opened to receiving messages when I am not able to channel my guides for myself, or am experiencing confusion about something.
Witch & Scythe (W&S from now foreward) was talking tody about several things pertinant to me that I wish to share with you. The title of this session is; YOU'RE IN A RARE MOMENT OF POTENTIAL AND MAY NOT KNOW IT. Posted July 9, 2026. The part that struck me first is what W&S said about soul retieval. She said that I may have lost someone important in my life, and a part of my soul went with them. She suggested a few methods of retrieving my soul aspect that went with this person. I will say right away that I do not believe any part of our soul is ever lost. It cannot be because our souls are eternal aspects of Sorce/God/whatever you want to call the creator of all things. And so, this information from W&S was interpretted by me, received by me, as a sign of something I THINK (consciousness) that I lost when my dad died. My dad and I, as souls, are very close in this life and others. And so, he is the one who popped into my mind first when asking myself what I think I lost when someone I love died. I asked myself, "what did I think I lost of myself when my dad died"? The answer came to me right away, as they often do when I quiet my mind and commune with my higher mind (my subconscious mind). It is the feeling of safety with my dad that I had my whole life, that I imagined was lost with him. As a child, I was in a car accident with my mother at age 4. My mother suffered great damage to her spine in that accident. She was taken into surgery that night and spent months in the hospital recovering from a spinal fusion. My father was out of town for business, but called a friend from work to come stay with me at the hospital until he could come home and be with me. I'm sure he did the same for my older sister who was in school at the time of the accident. My mother had trouble with her body and mobility for the rest of her life from this accident. Her spine never healed properly, which made it difficult for her to raise two young children while my dad worked to support us, and she did her best. My dad was always there for us, come whatever. My mother was there too, however, she was not always able to care for us the way a mother typically does. In fact, my sister also stepped up to make sure I had matching clothes to wear to school, brushed my hair and teeth, and bathed with me to be sure I was clean. But that's another story and this is about my dad and what I thought I lost when he died. Age 4 is a tough age to lose a parent, or the parent becomes disabled in some way. It's very scary for a child and makes them consider their own safety in the world. My dad mitigated much of that fear. As a matter of fact, he moved us to New York (USA) to be closer to our grandparents (we lived in Virginia USA, at the time of the accident). I thought it was a bummer to leave our wonderful lives in the wild suburban area we lived in to go to cold and unfriendly New York. Now I realize that my dad did that to ensure my sister and I had extra layers of protection while my mother underwent more surgery. My grandparents sure did step up. They kept my sister and I supervised and busy during the next summer of my mother's treatments. No small task, but doable with my father's constant oversight and support. So when my dad's soul passed from his physical body, I had unconsciously believed that I lost that part of myself, the child that always felt safe in this world while he was here. Those are not actually true, that I lost my dad, nor a piece of my soul. They are both intact and with me all of the time. I think my dad is part of my guide team now, or at least he has never left my side in my life since he passed. I smell his cigar from time to time, and his spirit speaks into my mind when I require direction and ask him for an assist. W&S suggested to find a practitioner of soul retrieval, find a meditiation on YouTube and do it that way, or to simply utter the words, "the parts of me that are ready to return to me, I invite them back now." None of these methods actually bring back a piece of you that was lost, because we are whole all of the time. They assist us to consciously remember the parts of ourselves that FEEL like they are lost for whatever reason. So I did option number 3, saying the words aloud. I am a quantum healer after all. I know I can call on any aspect of myself, in any dimension, at any time. However, I'm writing this today because this is about altering our conscious beliefs (and some unconscious ones) to match the energy of our higher self. In other words, I needed the words from W&S to show me that I did have a fear of safety rolling around in my energy fields after my dad passed, and I was unaware of it. I was not conscious of it, and her words illuminated that fear for me so that I could face it, dispell it, and recognize that I have never for one minute lost that little girl that felt safe because of her dad. She is still very much in me. As a matter of fact, she allowed me to grow into an adult that knows safety is always mine, that my soul is never in any true danger, and that my body is having a human experience driven by my soul's desire to have that experience. The safety comes from me remembering that no matter what happens in this human experience, I am always safe and looked after by my soul, my father and other spirits I have lifetimes with, Source, the angels, and my guide team in spirit. I know that I'm never alone. The only loss I sustained is the belief that I was no longer safe. That is a distortion of consciousness on my part. W&S helped me to see that distortion and correct it immediately for myself. My mom, my dad, and all of my relatives in this life and others will always be with me, guiding me, in this life as well as the others. And this brings me to the next point that W&S made that really hit me between the eyes. ENERGY BALANCE. Healers need to bring their energy and power back to themselves after the healing. She stated that when we perform healing work with others, we always need to remember to call our energy and power back to ourselves afterwards (yes, I said it twice because it's THAT important). What that means to me is that "healers" of all sorts use their energy to assist other people by merging their energies together, in concert, for the purpose of healing someone. The "healer" does not do the actual healing for another, but the healer does extend their energy to help facilitate healing in some way. Once the healing work is done, the healer must retract their own personal energy to themself, into their own auric fields and let go of any attachment to the outcomes and decisions that the "healed" one experiences from then on. It's not that the healer does not care about the healee. It's a matter of bringing back one's own energy to continue living their own human life. Sometimes a healee requires more than one healing session, and that's okay. However, the healer must still retract their own energy each time. You can't live someone else's life for them. I'll use an example for simplicity. I have a rope on my boat and I throw it out to someone who seems to be struggling in the water. That person is calling out to me to assist them because they do not want to be in the water. So I throw my rope, help hoist the person onto my boat and they are also helping themself to get up there. This person is now riding on my boat. I helped their energy come to my energy for a while, to get them out of the water they were in. That person did not have to grab the rope when I threw it, that was also a choice the person could make. Now, I either use my boat to get to that person's boat and drop them off there, or I use my boat to drive them to land where they are out of the water and can decide what to do next. I do not let this person keep my rope, stay on my boat forever, nor attach to any outcome for this person after they leave my boat. As one human to another, I had a means to assist and I did so. If they energies are balanced, the person I assisted will return my energy in some way (like a fruit basket from their fresh fruit stand, providing me some kind of service in return, thanking me, or paying me for my time and effort. Money, gifts and services are all forms of energy, so it does not matter what the exchange is, it's just better to have an exchange of energy when healing someone). We are all part of humanity and so many who embody the healing archetype are called to serve others. It is healthy to do so as long as we bring back our energy (the rope) to ourselves, have equal exchanges (an earnest "thank you" is sometimes enough), and do not get attached to other people's outcomes. If we give our energy away consistently and do not keep some for ourselves, then we become depleted. A steady habit of that, and what would we be using to live our own lives? That rope is ours and ours alone. People may use our rope if we throw it, but it must always be brought back to ourselves. Bringing one's own energy back to self after assisting to heal another is not self-ish, it's self-preservation. Each of us has the right and the obligation to preserve our own energy fields. No one can do it for us. We may ask for assistance, we may provide assistance, and ultimately we are the ones who keep our own energy fields healthy. Blessing to All. --Sue
